Biography

The growth of the internet and the emergence of digital photography has inspired me to become a photographer and Photoshop expert which in turn developed my interest in web design. I work as a Freelance Photographer, based in Kent.

I like to be around positive, creative people.

I joined the Royal Photographic Society and gained my Licentiate in 2006. I am presently working on my ARPS project. In 2009 I was awarded the Kent Messenger trophy for Photojournalism with the image 'Heat' shown cropped on the home page. This image has been successfully entered into a number of competitions.

2010 is the year I want to pursue and develop my portraits, particularly of teenagers about to embark on their careers at the end of compulsory education. Teenage years can be difficult, but they should be able to see themselves at a point where all aspirations are achieveable.

In 2009 I became a volunteer photographer for Kent Association for the Blind, working with them to produce images for use in fund raising and marketing materials.

Since 2008 I have been involved in photoshoots for Trash the Dress. Contrary to its name, dresses don't get ruined, but its a fun opportunity for ladies to wear their posh frock once more and create some great images. I am a regular photo contributor to a local community magazine, Dartford Living.

I am interested in sports and activity photography. I enjoy photographing Rugby League and Football, and have had photos published in the local press. 2009 was the year I became engrossed in football photography. 2008 was a year of a huge amount of motocross event photography from the 02 Supercross to Canada

A favourite project of 2008 was working with Ultimate Freedom - local parkour traceurs . I also worked with my local Fire and Rescue Service for a personal project spanning several months. Event photography has included The Eynsford Players' Stars In Their Eyes.

Gig and performance photography has taken me to Southampton to photograph The Delays and Sevenoaks for Show of Hands. In the recent past I have photographed The Damned, Midge Ure, Walter Trout, and numerous others at the Mick Jagger Centre, Darford and Think Floyd at the Orchard. The annual Mela celebration at the Mick Jagger Center has also been a fun event.
